Recorded Devices
Configuration > Servers Settings > Recording > Recording Sources > Recorded Devices

The recorded device section is where the list of devices to be recorded are configured, if a device is not listed here then it will not be recorded. Each device needs to have an entry in here and configured with the required information to be able to identify the device correctly.

Each different type of recorded device requires different information, for example:

It is important to double check voice card mappings after an upgrade to ensure it is still correct. This involves visually checking the mapping on screen and then dialing different channels to ensure the recorder is recording on the correct time slots.

  3. To add a new device or devices to be recorded, click on the Add button.
    • Select the recording method for this device, click Next.
    • Select the devices from the list shown and click Save.
  4. To edit an existing device, select the device and click on Edit.
  5. Depending on the type of device there will be different configuration options that need to be entered.

PRI / BRI / Analogue & Digital Extension

Device number: Enter the relevant device number.

Card Index: Select the index number of the voice card that the device is connected to.

Initial Channel number: Enter the starting time slot number.

Xarios SIP Trunk /  Synway SIP Trunk

Either of the above recording sources can be used to record SIP trunks. The Synway source requires an additional Synway license and driver configuration.

Device number: Enter the relevant device number.

SIP / IP Extension

Device number: Enter the relevant device number.

MAC Address: Enter the devices MAC address.

IP Address: Enter the devices IP address that will be receive by the recorder.

If the IP device is on the same subnet as the PBX that it is connected to then the MAC address can be used, otherwise the IP device will need to have a static IP address. If the device is behind any kind of NAT device, for example a remote worker, then their NAT'd/public IP address needs to be used. Only a single device can be configured against an IP address, so each device needs to have its own NAT'd/public IP address.
